MRLevel3 Privacy Policy
Information Stored:
MRLevel3 downloads several types of real-time weather-related data files, including binary radar data, text warning data, and text LSR data. Binary radar data is stored in a cache in the application data directory on your device for approximately four hours. It is purged occasionally and is deleted when MRLevel3 is uninstalled. Text weather data is stored in memory only and is deleted when the program ends.
Location Service Data:
MRLevel3 uses your device's Location Service to determine the closest NEXRAD to your location on first run. Afterwards, you can turn on the "Tracking" feature to show your current location in the radar display. All location information is retained in memory in the program, it is not stored locally or transmitted externally.
SkyDrive Access:
MRLevel3 allows you to download configuration files, e.g. Color Tables, from your SkyDrive account. None of your SkyDrive login information is available to MRLevel3. Files downloaded from SkyDrive are stored in the application data directory on your device and are deleted when the program is uninstalled. Go to www.skydrive.com to see its Privacy Policy.
Default NOAA/NWS Data Server:
By default, MRLevel3 retrieves its binary weather data files from the public NOAA/NWS Level III data server. Go to www.noaa.gov to see its Privacy Policy.
Private Level III Data Servers:
MRLevel3 supports polling radar data from private servers. You are required to login to that private server with your service's Username and Password, which is transmitted securely via HTTPS. MRLevel3 stores your Username and resulting ClientID(s) in local storage to accelerate subsequent logins and automate polling. Your Password is never stored locally and is deleted from memory after logging in. Your ClientID is transmitted to the private server in order to retrieve real-time weather data. Go to your private data server provider's website to view its Privacy Policy.
